  • Scan - used to scan your iTunes music library to acquire the details for all the tracks in your library. The scan is automatically done when starting.
  • Stop - stops a current scan or conversion.
  • Convert - converts one or more tracks to the selected Encoder format. AAC Encoder converts to AAC etc...
  • Select All - select all the tracks displays
  • Select None - clear any tracks selection.
  • Search - searches displayed results for the specified text.
  • Details - shows details for a selected track. Use right-mouse menu on selected track to show popup menu of options for selected track.
  • Play - play a selected track. When playing, pause is shown.
  • Encoder - shows a list of the available encoders for converting tracks.
  • Encoders supported:
    • MP3 Encoder
    • AAC Encoder
    • AIFF Encoder
    • WAV Encoder
    • Apple Lossless Encoder
  • Filter - is used to filter the display on the specified text. e.g. to show only AAC related entries enter AAC or to show AC/DC entries enter AC/DC.
  • Apply Filter - applies the entered/selected filter. When a filter is applied, the number of tracks shown is displayed to right of Clear Filters button.
  • Show All - clears the filters and shows all tracks displayed.
  • Clear Filters - clears saved filters. Use with care as filters are useful.
  • Delete the original track after the conversion - removed the original track after it is converted and a new track has been created.

Convert all track in iTunes library at once

If you desire to convert all of your iTunes tracks at once, use Select All for toolbar or the Edit Select All menu to select all tracks then do a Convert.

Convert one or more tracks

To convert a single track, select that track then click Convertor right-click on the track then select Convert from the popup menu.

See the notes at the bottom of the window for multiple selection options.

Filtering tracks

Use the Filter list to the right of the toolbar and Encoder list to filter the library display to help you find what you want to convert. e.g. if you want to convert all AAC audio files to MP3, then select the AAC audio file filter ot enter the text in the filter area then select Apply Filter. To show everything again, click Show All. To ear out all out your saved filters, click Clear Filters. Use this with care as filters are useful.

Converting tracks

Once the conversion is started aConverter for iTunes Help Home - Converter for iTunes Helpicon will be displayed next to the track indicating the conversion has started.
When the conversion has successfully completed, a Converter for iTunes Help Home - Converter for iTunes Helpicon is displayed next to the track.
If an error occurs converting the track or the track type is not supported for conversion (see below), then a Converter for iTunes Help Home - Converter for iTunes Helpicon is displayed next to the track.

Supported tracks

  • Only audio tracks can be converted.
  • Protected audio tracks can not be converted and are skipped.
  • Video tracks can not be converted and are skipped.
  • Audiobook tracks can not be converted and are skipped.
